Situation:
Some disk recordable DVD, including those not forming part of the list of media recommended (page 4 of the notice CU-VD10/20 or page 25 of the notice CU-VD40), are not recognized or present problems reading/writing with the stations of engraving CU-VD10, CU-VD20 or CU-VD40.
Solution:
The problem is generated by a bad reflectance of disks used. To increase the tolerance of stations engraving JVC, it is necessary to update their firmware (firmware)
1/ Control the firmware version of the recorder
(A) Connect the writer CU-VD10, CU-VD20 or CU-VD40 to the PC via the USB connector.
B) to Connect the AC adapter burner CU-VD10, CU-VD20 or CU-VD40 then put the selector located at the rear, in a position "ON"
(C) once the writer CU-VD10, CU-VD20 or CU-VD40 detected on your computer, launch the software Power2Go. (Origin delivered with your burner CU-VD10, CU-VD20 or CU-VD40).
(D) Select the tool
Options settings "configuration, information on the disk".
(E) In the new window that appears, select the recorder CU-VD10, CU-VD20 or CU-VD40 to view the firmware version.
If the latter is different from "26 » then pass to step 2/

2/ Download the file corresponding update to your burner CU-VD10, CU-VD20 or CU-VD40
Once the file downloaded on the hard drive of your computer, you get a compressed folder with the ZIP format : 26-VD**-R2.zip from 489 Kb.
Unzip this file with the application of decompression WinZIP of your computer.
You get then a file in ISO format : 26-VD**-R2.iso 2050 Kb.
3/ Burn Disc of update to the help of burner CU-VD10, CU-VD20 or CU-VD40
(A) Insert a blank CD-R or CD-RW disc into the
(B) Launch the software Power2Go. (Origin delivered with your burner CU-VD10, CU-VD20 or CU-VD40).
(C) Select the menu '' and then 'Engraving disk image Burn'.
(D) Choose the file .iso corresponding burner CU-VD10, CU-VD20 or CU-VD40.
(E) Click on 'Burn'.

When your disk is properly engraved, only a INDEX.htm file must be present on your hard disk.
4/ Update the firmware of your burner CU-VD10, CU-VD20 or CU-VD40
(A) Disconnect the writer CU-VD10, CU-VD20 or CU-VD40 of your computer.
B) to Connect the AC adapter burner CU-VD10, CU-VD20 or CU-VD40 then put the selector located at the rear, in a position "ON".
(C) Open the drawer and insert the disk.
(D) Close the drawer.
The update starts automatically and lasts approximately 1 minute.
(E) once the updating carried out, the disc is automatically ejected.
The update is complete.
